GAINESVILLE, Fla. -

Senior Andreas Hoegberg led the Golden Knights with a 1-over-par 71 Sunday as UCF moved up two spots to finish fifth of 15 teams at the SunTrust Gator Invitational hosted by the University of Florida at the University Golf Course. UCF posted a 12-over-par 292 Sunday and finished the 54-hole event at 36-over-par, 18 shots behind champion Florida. Wake Forest finished runner-up, followed by Florida State and South Carolina.

UCF freshman Chris Anderson closed his first collegiate event with a 2-over-par 72 and finished in a tie for ninth at 4-over-par. Hoegberg tied for 21st at 9-over-par, followed by freshman Giwon Suh, who tied for 27th at 11-over-par.

Florida State's Jonas Blixt was the only player in the tournament to finish under par. He posted a 2-under-par 68 Sunday and wound up at 1-under-par, two shots clear of the field.

UCF freshman Ben Leong (Bradenton, Fla./Bradenton Academy) and sophomore Steven Bain finished tied for 38th and 45th, respectively.

The Golden Knights return to action Feb. 14-15 when they host the UCF/Rio Pinar Intercollegiate at the Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando.
