CLERMONT - Junior Tiffany Roebuck set a new school record in the hammer throw as the UCF women's track and field team competed at the National Triathlon Training Center on Feb. 19.
Roebuck threw a 185-10, four inches better than her record of a year ago, and established an NCAA Regional qualifying mark in her first meet of the season. Not to be outdone freshman Kendra Howell eclipsed the school's freshman record in the event throwing 150-1, which beat her previous personal best of 146-6.
Also showing improvements were the pole vaulters. Sophomore and reigning Atlantic Sun Champion Katie Fowke posted an 11-6, while freshman Kelsey Bealert came in at 10-0 and senior Sara Scheeren and sophomore Tracy Fischler earned marks of 9-0. All were season bests.
Junior Diana Chin also improved leaping to a mark of 19-4 in the long jump.
Next up, the Golden Knights compete in the UCF Invitational on March 5 at 4 p.m. at the UCF Track Complex.
