ORLANDO - Fresh off its win at home in the UCF/Rio Pinar Intercollegiate, Nick Clinard's men's golf team at UCF goes on the road to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. this weekend to compete in the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship.

The 54-hole event hosted by the University of North Florida will be contested over the 6,985-yard par 72 Sawgrass Country Club with 18 holes Sunday through Tuesday.

Senior Andreas Hoegberg, who fired a final round 4-under-par 68 and picked up his first collegiate title at Rio Pinar Tuesday in a playoff, will have with him the same four freshmen that teed it up with him earlier this week. Hoegberg leads the team with a stroke average of 72 and has posted five top 10 finishes in seven events.

It will be a homecoming for UCF freshman Preston Brown who hails from Ponte Vedra Beach. Brown played well at Rio Pinar, claiming a tie for fifth at 1-under-par.

The strong 18-team field features nine teams ranked in the top 30 in the latest Golfweek rankings, including defending champion South Carolina.
