ORLANDO, Fla. - Kingsley Edwards had a triple-double - 10 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists - and Central Florida used a 10-0 second-half run to pull away and eventually defeat Troy 87-76 on Sunday.
Gary Johnson had 19 points and Troy Lindbeck had 18 for UCF (12-4, 5-3 Atlantic Sun), which also got 17 points and 10 rebounds from Anthony Williams. The Golden Knights outrebounded Troy 44-18.
Eddie Baker's steal and layup with 13:50 remaining drew Troy (5-11, 3-4) within 47-45, but Lindbeck scored seven points - a 3-pointer, and then a four-point play - in the next two minutes to spark UCF's run. Johnson hit a 3-pointer with 10:49 left to push UCF's lead to 59-49; the margin never fell below 10 again.
Josh Peppers had 10 points for UCF, which connected on 13-of-30 tries from 3-point range. Johnson made 6 of 11 shots from behind the arc; Lindbeck was 5-for-7.
Bobby Dixon and Corey Hornsby each scored 15 points for Troy, which lost its second straight.
