ORLANDO - The men's basketball team hosts UMKC on Saturday before an 11-day layoff. The Golden Knights are coming off of a 67-55 loss to Gardner-Webb on Thursday. UMKC comes into the match-up with an 0-2 mark.

William Bakanowsky is coming off of a career-game which he recorded his first double-double with 11 points and a career-best 14 boards. The 6-9 junior shot .500 from the floor (4-for-8) and behind the arc (2-for-4) in UCF's 67-55 loss to Gardner-Webb. His 11 points and two steals led UCF in the contest. For the season, Bakanowsky is now averaging 7.2 points per game and a team-best 6.2 rebounds per contest.

The Golden Knights are looking to equal their best start through six games as a Division I member (5-1), which they previously posted in Kirk Speraw's first season at the helm. That season, UCF made the NCAA Tournament and won 20 games for the first time at the Division I level. The Knights are however, coming off of a 12-point loss to Gardner-Webb, which saw UCF go the last 14:50 of the game with just one field goal. UCF went 1-for-16 during that stretch while committing eight turnovers.

The Kangaroos have fallen to Mississippi State and Eastern Illinois. MSU handed UMKC an 82-64 loss in the season opener while EIU downed UMKC 77-69 on Wednesday night. Four players are averaging double figures with Brandon Temple and Mike English pacing the squad at 12.5 points per game. Corey Starks and Mose Howard are averaging 12.0 and 10.5 points per game respectively. Carlton Aaron leads the team in rebounding at 8.5 boards per game while chipping in 9.5 points per contest. This will mark the first meeting between the two schools. They will meet again on December 18 in Kansas City.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., as Marc Daniels will call the action, which can be heard live on UCF ISP Sports Network and its flagship station 740-THE TEAM (AM).
