Kendra Flock Named to Two National Teams of the Week

Nov. 5, 2004

Freshman Kendra Flock (Calgary, Alberta/Western Canada HS) was named to two national teams of the week after her performance last week against the #12 Florida State Seminoles. She was named to the socceramerica.com Team of the Week and to the soccerbuzz.com Elite Team of the Week. This was Flock's first time winning Team of the Week from both socceramerica.com and soccerbuzz.com.

In the victory over Florida State, Flock scored the game-winning goal with 45 seconds left in the game. Flock also had an assist on the first UCF goal of the game. The win was UCF's first since 1998 when they defeated FSU 1-0.

This week has been a very busy awards week for Flock and her teammates with Flock starting out the week earning Player of the Week honors from the Atlantic Sun and then being named to the Atlantic Sun First Team All-Conference with Courtney Baines (Indialantic, Fla./Satellite HS), Allison Blagriff (Melbourne, Fla./Eau Gallie HS) and Shannon Wing (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS). Jennifer Montgomery (Colton, Calif./Colton HS) earned a spot on the Atlantic Sun Second Team All-Conference while Flock and Jessica Hallgren (Pinellas Park, Fla./Clearwater Central Catholic HS) earned spots on the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team. Baines was also honored as the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Year.

Flock and the rest of the Golden Knights are back in action today when they take on the Jacksonville Dolphins in the semifinal round of the Atlantic Sun Tournament in Buies Creek, N.C. at 4:00 p.m.
