UCF Women's Soccer to Play in the Semi-Finals of the A-Sun Tournament

ORLANDO, Fla. - The UCF women's soccer team will take on Jacksonville on Friday, November 5 in the semi-final round of the Atlantic Sun Tournament in Buies Creek, N.C. The Golden Knights (15-3-1, 8-2) are seeded second behind tournament host Campbell who both received byes for the first round. Jacksonville made it to the semi-final round by defeating Florida Atlantic in the quarter-finals 3-2.

The Golden Knights are ranked first in eight different team categories for the A-Sun and second in two other categories. UCF is ranked first in shots (363), points (153), goals (55), goals per game (2.89), goals allowed (10), goals against average (0.52), shutouts (10) and corner kicks (118). The categories that the Knights are ranked second are assists (43) and assists per game (2.26).

Individually, the Knights rank throughout every category. In the shots category, Kendra Flock (Calgary, Alberta/Western Canada HS) is ranked third with 56, Allison Blagriff (Melbourne, Fla./Eau Gallie HS) sixth with 46 and Jennifer Montgomery (Colton, Calif./Colton HS) ninth with 45. In the shots per game category, Flock is ranked sixth with 2.95, Blagriff ninth with 2.42 and Montgomery tenth with 2.37. Flock is ranked fifth in points with 23, Blagriff eighth with 19 and Montgomery tenth with 18. Flock is also ranked seventh in points per game with 1.21 and Blagriff tenth with 1.00. With 10 goals on the season, Flock is ranked fifth while Blagriff is ranked seventh with nine goals herself. For goals per game, Flock and Blagriff are ranked sixth and seventh with 0.53 and 0.47. In the assists category, Courtney Baines (Indialantic, Fla./Satellite HS) is ranked third with nine, Becca Eshelman (Akron, Pa./Ephrata HS) fourth with eight and Montgomery seventh with six. Baines is ranked third in assists per game with 0.47 while Eshelman is fourth with 0.42. In the game-winning goals category, Montgomery is ranked second with four and Flock is ranked fifth with three.

In the goalkeeper categories, Julie Snaman (Burke, Va./Robinson Secondary) is ranked in four different ones. Snaman is first in goals against average (.53), shutouts (7) and shutouts per game (0.44) and fourth in save percentage (.852).

Earlier in the season when the Knights and the Dolphins played, UCF won 2-0. The teams went into halftime tied 0-0 with UCF leading in shots 11-5. The Golden Knights came out of the break ready to go. Montgomery scored the first goal at the 66:25 mark on a free kick. Less than 10 minutes later, Blagriff scored an insurance goal assisted by Montgomery. When all was said and done, UCF had won 2-0, out-shot Jacksonville 18-11, taken four corner kicks compared to Jacksonville's three and goalkeeper Snaman had two saves to Michelle Kmiotek six.
