Zack Lucas is in his first season as the Director of Operations for UCF Football, after joining the Knights in March 2024. He comes to Orlando following two seasons as the Director of Football Operations at the University of the Incarnate Word, where he oversaw all day-to-day operations of the UIW football program. Lucas was a part of the 2022 UIW football team that won the Southland Conference and advanced to the Semi-Finals of the FCS Playoffs.
Prior to UIW, Lucas was the Director of Football Operations at the University of Hawaii. During his time with Hawaii, he directly oversaw all football support staff and was the liaison between the football program, athletic administration, donors and boosters.
Lucas also spent time with the New York Jets as their Football Operations Assistant. In this role, Lucas assisted the Director of Football Operations with all logistics for training camp, housing, transportation, and meals. Lucas also assisted in coordinating the travel logistics for all home and away games, college All-Star games and the NFL combine.
Lucas received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Oklahoma State University. He was a part of the 2010 Oklahoma State University Alamo Bowl Championship team. In 2014, he was the CFP semifinalist at Florida State University and in 2013, he was a part of the BCS National Championship with Florida State University.
Lucas is married to Meghan Lucas and has three children, Lacey Lucas, Julia Lucas, and Zachary Lucas II.
