Brigadier General Stephen M. Seay, since leaving active military service in September 2005, incorporated Seay Business Solutions, LLC, a Florida Small Business; in 2016, joined the Proxy Board of Quantum 3D, Government Systems, California (High Tech Soldier Systems).
He serves on the Board of Directors of eMagin Corporation, New York (OLED/micro-display); Director, Treasurer, now Secretary, Kid’s House of Seminole, Florida (Child Advocacy); Board of Trustees, Orlando Science Center, Orlando, Florida (STEM); Ex-Officio Member, Florida High Tech Corridor Council and Team Orlando, Central Florida; Secretary, Policy Committee, National Modeling and Simulation Coalition, National (M&S Industry). He is a Partner with Seminole County, Florida, addressing regional veteran homelessness; Senior Advisor and business mentor, Talon Simulations, LLC, a University of Central Florida Incubator small business virtual reality entertainment, gaming and training spinout company.
Seay has over 40 years of direct senior-level leadership in operational units, high-technology research, development, program management, life-cycle maintenance and training of sophisticated systems, including software, hardware, electronics, micro-display, cyber systems and mission command platforms. Seay Business Solutions, LLC, provides, leadership, mentorship of military/civilian professionals, university students and student-athletes, strategic planning, programmatic due diligence, senior strategic business planning, program management, fiscal oversight, programmatic and executive personnel management actions.
Seay is an innovator in integrating tough, realistic operational unit training with high technology training systems, products and services, utilizing holistic system engineering to create tough, realistic operational scenarios, recreating combat experiences as closely as possible. Seay’s practical experience creating, facilitating and controlling inter-operable training scenarios, surrounding operational units and utilizing modeling and simulation systems to enhance and broaden training realism translates to innovative system engineering solutions and a well-prepared warrior.
Seay’s Army career, spanning more than 33 years, culminated as the Commanding General, Joint Contracting Command-Iraq, Head of Contracting Activity (HCA), Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq ($18.4B) and Program Executive Officer, U.S. Army Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), Orlando, Florida. Under Steve’s leadership, the financial management responsibilities of PEO STRI grew from over $700M to more than $2.1B, thus providing greater training support to joint service members.
Gen. Seay holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire, where he was a three-sport student athlete, and a Master of Science degree from North Carolina State University.
He coached Division One NCAA lacrosse at the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland.
