Ryan Ladika joined the Strategic Communications staff at UCF on November 7, 2022 as a Staff Assistant, Strategic Communications before he was promoted to Assistant Director, Strategic Communications on July 1, 2023. He handles the day-to-day communications efforts as the primary contact and sports information director for UCF softball and men's soccer, while also aiding and assisting with responsibilities for men's and women's basketball.
A graduate of Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication prior to joining UCF, Ladika brings with him experience in both Minor and Major League Baseball, previously serving as the Broadcast and Media Relations intern with the Charleston RiverDogs in the summer of 2019, as well as the Baseball Communications intern with the Tampa Bay Rays during the 2022 season.
In Charleston, his responsibilities included play-by-play and color commentary on radio broadcasts of each of the RiverDogs' 70 home games, authoring press releases, game notes, game recaps, series previews and feature stories, and handling publication of programs distributed to fans for each home series.
With the Rays, Ladika authored daily postgame notes, Minor League reports, stat packs, news clipping compilations and press releases while also handling distribution of daily media credentials and field passes.
Following his graduation from ASU in the spring of 2020, he served as a sports writer with the Minot Daily News in Minot, North Dakota, from January 2021–February 2022, covering high school and Division II college athletics, before relocating to St. Petersburg, Florida in March of 2022.
In his free time, Ladika enjoys running, bike riding, skiing, grilling and watching sports.
