Raymond Chiu joined the UCF staff in the summer of 2019 as the Athletic Trainer for Men’s Basketball and Men’s Golf.
Chiu came to UCF after spending a year at the University of Cincinnati as an athletic training intern, where he worked with the football and spirit teams. Prior to that, he was a graduate assistant in the sports medicine department at UCF, working primarily with the volleyball and spirit teams. Chiu also spent time as a seasonal intern with the Houston Rockets.
Chiu earned his Master of Science in Sports and Exercise Science from UCF in 2018 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Texas in 2015.
While in school in Austin, Chiu was a student assistant with Texas Athletics, working with the men’s basketball, football, baseball, and volleyball programs.
Chiu is a licensed Athletic Trainer, a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, and American Red Cross CPR/AED certified as a professional rescuer and health care provider. He is also a Corrective Exercise and Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
