Meredith Schamun enters her second season as UCF's director of volleyball operations in 2015. In addition to her administrative duties with travel and business, Schamun will coordinate the scouting, playing and practice video, player skills video, and the DataVolley Statistics.
A double major in health science and policy studies at Rice University, she was a four-year starter for the Owls and was the Conference USA Setter of the Year in 2009. Schamun was a two-time All-Conference USA First Team, AVCA All-Region and AVCA All-America honorable mention selection and led Rice to a conference championship and two NCAA Tournament appearances. She is the All-Time Career Assist leader at Rice, finishing her tenure with 5,190 total assists.
She began an international professional career with GSGV Guibasco in Bellinzona, Switzerland before moving to VC Wiesbaden in Germany. While in Germany, VC Wiesbaden earned both German League Bronze Medalist and German Cup Silver Medalist honors, while Schamun was named the team MVP following a match against Munster. The Murietta, California native has coached two club teams in California, 951 Elite in Murietta and, most recently, Prime Volleyball Club in Newport Beach.
