Mario Rodriguez joined the UCF staff as an assistant athletic trainer in November of 2020. Rodriguez oversees coverage of the track & field and cross country programs.
Prior to arriving at UCF, he worked as an athletic trainer at the University of Michigan working with track & field and cross country. Rodriguez graduated from George Washington University with a master's degree in sports management. While at GWU, Rodriguez worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the men’s soccer program and assisted with the men’s & women’s tennis teams.
A native of Canton, Mich., Rodriguez received his Bachelor of Science in athletic training from Eastern Michigan University. During his time at Eastern Michigan, Rodriguez did a study abroad in Taiwan working alongside student athletic trainers from the country. He also completed an internship at the University of Tennessee.
Mario is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and certified in American Red Cross CPR/AED as well as an instructor.
