Malik Thomas joined the UCF staff as a senior manager for corporate partnerships in June 2016 and was promoted to Assistant AD, Corporate Partnerships in July of 2019. In his role, Thomas is responsible for cultivating and developing sponsorship agreements with local regional and national companies who are interested in developing their respective brands through traditional, community and in-market promotional programs.
Thomas came to UCF from Rivalry Athletic Wear, where he was vice president of business development and operations for four years. During his time with Rivalry, he established the online retail platform to penetrate 23 markets, hire a staff from 15 markets and oversee the overall branding and sales development of the company. Prior to Rivalry, Thomas worked with the Charlotte Speed of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL), and served as the club's VP of Business Operations.
Thomas has been in the sales and marketing industry for the last 15 years, starting his career with the Raven Film Company in Charlotte, N.C. Over the course of his professional career, he has worked in a variety of marketing positions including advertising sales, coordinator of social media, as a sales and marketing executive, and currently in sponsorship development.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Thomas and his wife Dawn have two children, Mila and Drew.
