Ken Landis has been a member of the UCF Athletics Strategic Communications department since January 2019 and was recently promoted to Assistant A.D. in May 2025. He began his career with the Knights as a Communications Assistant before earning successive promotions to Assistant Director in June 2021 and Associate Director in August 2022.
Landis leads the strategic communications department and handles the day-to-day communications efforts for the UCF football and spirit teams. He previously served as the primary contact for the men's basketball, men's soccer, softball, rowing and men's and women's tennis teams.
Landis completed his third season with the men's basketball program with the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign. The Knights reached the championship game of the inaugural College Basketball Crown. The two years prior saw UCF reach the National Invitation Tournament in both of Landis' first two seasons with the team, including earning the right to host a first round game in March 2024.
In addition to working closely with National College Basketball Hall of Famer Johnny Dawkins and staff, Landis raised the level of communications efforts for the men's basketball program to prepare for UCF's rise to the Big 12 Conference. Landis instituted more media availabilities for Dawkins and his players as well as revamping the program's game notes, record book and media guide.
In his seven years as an SID with the Knights, Landis has managed the publicity efforts for teams that have won a combined seven conference championships and four programs he has worked with have advanced to play in the Round of 16 in either the NCAA Tournament or NIT. On top of hosting the 2024 NIT First Round, he has played host for an NCAA softball regional in the spring of 2022 and has assisted in hosting multiple NCAA Tennis Championships.
A former UCF student, Landis was a broadcasting intern with UCF Athletics before joining the Strategic Communications department, broadcasting numerous baseball and volleyball contests. The Boca Raton, Florida, native graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Public Relations and a minor in Sports Business Management in December of 2018.
Prior to joining UCF, Landis gained professional experience as a broadcast and journalism intern with the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs of the FCSL during the summer of 2018 and as a social media, marketing and broadcast intern with the Florida Fire Frogs during the club’s inaugural season in 2017. He rounded out that experience with a marketing internship at Chick-fil-A where his duties occasionally included appearances in the iconic cow costume.
