J.T. Reinert joined UCF in 2021 and currently serves as the assistant athletic director for Compliance. In this role, he manages the day-to-day operations of the athletics compliance office and is the sport contact for the football and softball teams. Prior to being promoted to assistant athletic director, Reinert served as the director of Compliance from May 2021 - 2022 where he oversaw recruiting, playing seasons, and camps and clinics for all UCF varsity sport programs.
Before joining UCF, Reinert spent four years as assistant director for the Office of Compliance Services at the University of South Carolina. There, he was responsible for all education and monitoring efforts in the post of compliance liaison for the Gamecocks' beach volleyball, swimming & diving, track & field and volleyball programs.
Reinert began his full-time career in athletics compliance in the NCAA's selective postgraduate internship program during the 2016-17 academic year at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis. In this role, he gained valuable experience by handling self-reported lower-level NCAA rule violations and observing higher-level investigations, which involved collaborative efforts between the NCAA national office and NCAA member schools.
Earlier in his career, Reinert completed a compliance internship at Rice University while earning his J.D. from the University of Houston. He, initially, spent nearly six years in mortgage finance before transitioning to the field of athletics compliance.
