Love joined the UCF football program in December 2024 as the Executive Director of Player Personnel. He comes to Orlando following two seasons at Florida Atlantic. In Spring 2024, he was elevated to Executive Director of Player Personnel/General Manager. Prior to his time at FAU, Love served as an assistant coach at the University of the Cumberlands, where he coached running backs and tight ends, while also serving as the Punt Block and Recruiting Coordinator. In 2022, his punt block unit set a school record for blocked punts with four and set the record for the most scoop-and-score touchdowns off blocked punts in a season with three. During the same year, the Patriots signed Malik Thorton, who would go on to win the 2022 Mid-South Conference Defensive Freshman of the Year, the second such honor in program history.
Before Cumberlands, Love was the Associate Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Recruiting Director at Riverdale High School in 2021. He helped transition the team from a single-wing offense to a hybrid spread system, mentoring two first-year quarterbacks to lead the team to a combined 2,634 yards in nine games. Love also handled all aspects of college recruiting and assisted in the recruitment of notable athletes, including Jaheim Clark (Illinois) and Anthony Baxter (Temple). Prior to that, Love served as the Head Football Coach at Oasis Charter High School in 2020, where he grew the roster from 24 to 48 players in his first month on the job. Under his leadership, quarterback Toby Kellner led the state of Florida in total offense with 2,045 yards in eight games.
Love's coaching career also includes a significant tenure at Santa Margarita Catholic High School (Orange County, CA), where he was the Assistant Head Coach, Quarterbacks Coach, and Director of Football Communications. He led the recruitment of several high-profile athletes, including Colt Fulton (Boise State) and Derek Wilkins (Cal). His role also involved managing all aspects of operations within the program, such as marketing, fundraising, and travel.
Earlier in his career, Love worked at the University of Kansas, where he was a key part of the coaching staff from 2016-2018. He notably became the first video director in college football history to be promoted to assistant coach mid-season, serving as the quarterbacks coach in 2018. Under his coaching, the Jayhawks defeated TCU for their first Big 12 conference victory in nearly two years. He also contributed to the development of innovative video technologies, including the use of drones in practice video plans and digital video boards in the Kansas locker room.
Love began his college coaching career as an Assistant Coach at Houston Baptist from 2012 to 2016, where he mentored several players to All-Southland honors and coordinated the punt return unit. He also worked as the recruiting coordinator for the program's early years, helping to establish a strong foundation for the team. Before that, Love worked at Occidental College in 2011 as an Assistant Coach, focusing on defensive backs and recruiting. During his time there, he helped the team achieve numerous defensive honors and mentored standout player Ayrton Bates.
Love’s coaching journey started as a video assistant at Washington State in 2005 and later at Nevada in 2007, where he honed his skills in football video operations and scouting. He was also part of the Kansas staff from 2008 to 2011, where he worked as the team’s video coordinator and contributed to the team’s Insight Bowl victory in 2008.
Born in Punta Gorda, Florida, Love graduated from the UCF in 2006 with a B.S. degree in Social Science Education. He is the proud father of two sons, Cameron Robert and Anthony Niko.
