MacDougall joined UCF in July of 2017 as the assistant director for communications. He handles the primary duties for Knights baseball, volleyball and men's and women's tennis.
Prior to landing in Orlando, MacDougall spent two years at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, where he covered a litany of sports, including women's basketball, soccer and softball, and assisted with men's basketball and volleyball. Advancing from communications intern to assistant to assistant director over a span of a year and a half, he was responsible for graphic design, video production, written content and media relations for the Islanders.
MacDougall earned his bachelor's degree in history with a minor in French at Wabash College, where he was a kicker for the Little Giants football team and an assistant for the sports information department. After his undergraduate career, he began his master's degree in sports management and played one season at Purdue University, while assisting the Boilermakers athletic communications team.
The Westfield, Ind., native is married to his high school sweetheart Rachel, who played basketball at Western Illinois. The couple reside in Orlando.
