Cory Hall was named Associate Director of Athletics Communications at UCF in October, 2015. He handles the communications efforts for the men’s basketball, track & field and cross country programs.
Prior to moving to the Sunshine State, Hall spent over two years as the Senior Director of Sports Communications at the University of Cincinnati. While at UC, he was the secondary football contact and primary contact for women’s soccer, track & field and cross country. Hall also ministered in developing web site content and multimedia strategies for the Bearcats.
Hall ventured to Cincinnati after spending two and a half years at the University of Minnesota as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. In 2012-13, he worked as the media contact for UM’s back-to-back National Championship women’s hockey program that showcased a handful of Olympians and All-Americans, including USA Hockey Bob Allen Women’s Player of the Year and Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award winner Amanda Kessel. Along with promoting a Gophers program that produced the first undefeated season women’s collegiate hockey history, he served as the media coordinator for the 2013 Women’s Frozen Four.
He also spent time overseeing the women’s soccer, women’s gymnastics, softball, women’s cross country and track & field programs. For the 2012-3 academic year, Hall was appointed as the coordinator of the Gophers’ internship program, which encompassed 25 full-time interns across the entire athletics department.
Before heading to the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Hall was an intern in the sports information department at Appalachian State University. There he served as the primary contact for field hockey, cross country, track & field and tennis, while also serving as the secondary football contact.
The Guthrie Center, Iowa, native began working in the communications field at Central College in Pella, Iowa, under the tutelage of CoSIDA Hall of Famer inductee Larry Happel. From 2006-10, he assisted with communication efforts for all 11 athletic programs. He also interned with the Des Moines Menace Soccer Club, which is annually one of the top soccer clubs in the United Soccer League’s Premier Developmental League (PDL).
Hall graduated from Central College in 2010 with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management. While at Central, he was also a letterwinner and all-conference performer for the Dutch track & field program.
