Christina Blair enters her third year as a member of the Golden Knights[apos] women[apos]s rowing staff after enjoying a successful career at UCF. Her responsibilities include coaching the freshman/novice team and assisting Leeanne Crain with general administrative duties and recruiting.
Blair[apos]s novice team has enjoyed many accomplishments under her guidance. In 2003, the Open 8+ won a silver medal at the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association (FIRA) Championships and a bronze at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association (SIRA) Championships. The crew also advanced to the semi-finals of the prestigious Dad Vail.
Blair began rowing in 1993 at MAST Academy in Miami, Fla. She joined the UCF rowing team as a lightweight in 1997 and won two consecutive gold medals in the Lightweight 8+ at FIRA Championships as well as the Lightweight 4+ title at the 1998-99 SIRA Championships.
After graduating cum laude in May of 2000 with a degree in psychology and a minor in health science, Blair decided to use her remaining year of eligibility and studied athletic training and earned the team[apos]s Most Dedicated Athlete Award.
A member of U.S. Rowing, Blair acquired her Level Three Coaching Certification in 2001 and is also a certified U.S. Weightlifting Club Coach.
Blair resides in Orlando with her husband, Stephen, and eight-month old son Stevie III.
