Chris Lahey was named general manager of UCF Sports Properties in September 2022. He joins Knight Nation after six seasons with Major League Soccer’s Orlando City Soccer Club.
While at Orlando City, Lahey led a sales and service team that generated the most revenue in club history, landed a naming rights partner with Exploria Resorts, and contracted the largest partnership deal in club history with Orlando Health.
Lahey has previous experience working in college athletics as the general manager for multi-media rights holders. He spent nearly 10 years working for rights holder ESPN at the University of South Florida as well as Learfield at New Mexico State University. He was also an associate athletic director for external affairs at Saint Leo University, a Division II school in the Sunshine State Conference.
His pro sports experience includes corporate partnerships sales roles with the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League, the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League and the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball during 2007 and 2008, during which they appeared in the World Series.
A native of Maine, Lahey graduated from Colby College where he was a member of the Mules’ men’s basketball team. He earned his master’s degree from St. Thomas University in Florida and has two daughters, Jessica and Victoria.
