Aneta Miksovska joined UCF Athletics as the director of performance nutrition in July 2024.
A former NCAA student-athlete and Division I tennis coach, Miksovska has most recently served nutrition departments at Lamar University and Marshall University.
Miksovska gained her first sports nutrition experience at Washinton State (WSU), her alma mater, where she was a student-athlete on the tennis team (2015-19). Following graduation, Miksovska gained nutrition practicum experience at Florida State with FSU Nole Fuel, assisting the FSU football team during summer 2019. Following her stint in Tallahassee, Miksovska was hired as the women’s tennis assistant coach at Virginia Tech. After the 2019-20 season was cut short due to COVID-19, Miksovska continued her coaching path and became the women’s tennis assistant coach at Illinois State for two seasons. She received her master’s degree in nutrition from Illinois State as well as became Registered Dietitian (RD).
At Lamar (2023-2024)
As the Cardinals’ sports dietitian, Miksovska was responsible for operational management of the Market Basket Nutrition Center, including budgeting, inventory, daily food preparation and social media content. She interacted daily with Lamar’s 17 sponsored teams.
At Marshall (2022-2023)
Miksovska worked primarily with the Marshall football team. While in Huntington, she oversaw daily pre- and post-workout fueling and maintenance of the Herd Fuel fueling station. She conducted team education sessions with all Marshall sports teams, individual consultations with student athletes and created personalized meal plans and supplement recommendations for student athletes.
As an Assistant Coach at Illinois State (2020-2022)
During her two seasons at Illinois State, Miksovska helped guide the team to one regular season MVC championships and one MVC tournament championship as well as an appearance in the 2022 NCAA women’s tennis team tournament. The Redbirds posted a 34-15 record in those two seasons. She also helped coach Tijana Zlatanovic to the MVC Freshman of the Year award and assisted head coach Maja Kovacek to earn the MVC Coach of The Year award.
As an Assistant Coach at Virginia Tech (2019-2020)
During her one season at Virginia Tech, Miksovska helped guide the team to a 7-7 record which included wins over Arkansas and Penn State. Unfortunately, the Spring 2020 season was cut short due to COVID-19.
As a Student-Athlete at Washington State (2015-2019)
Over her four seasons in Pullman, Miksovska won 98 singles matches, which ranks fourth in Washington State history. In addition, she tallied 90 career doubles victories. She was a three-time First-Team All-Academic Pac-12 selection. She was also selected as one of Washington State's Senior Excellence in Academics Award winners as well as the university’s Steve Gleason Community Service and Leadership Award, given to those who have demonstrated strong citizenship skills and leadership qualities within their team and throughout the athletic department and community. She finished out her career earning the ITA Cissie Leary Award for the Northwest Region in May. The award is given to the player who displays inspiring dedication and commitment to her team, which has enhanced her team's performance and exemplified the spirit of college tennis.
During her sophomore season (2016-17), Miksovska was named captain of the team. In her final two seasons, Washington State was ranked among the top 45. In 2018 she helped the Cougars to a No. 42 national ranking with a 21-7 overall record. In 2019, Miksovska helped guide the Cougars to a No. 36 national rank, securing an NCAA Tournament appearance. During her freshman season she tallied 31 singles victories, setting a Washington State freshman record.
In her career she secured key victories to help the Cougars win against three ranked teams, including the clinching match against No. 10 UCLA in 2019. She finished the 2019 season with a record of 24-7 in singles play, a team best. In the final match of her career, Miksovka tallied a three-set win in the NCAA Tournament against Miami.
