Andrew Veeder is in his first season with the women's tennis program in 2014-15. He ventured to Orlando from Melbourne where he was an assistant for the Florida Tech men's and women's teams from 2012-14.
With Florida Tech, Veeder was named the 2014 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II South Region Women's Tennis Assistant Coach of the Year. Last year he helped Kristina Huba achieve a No. 9 national singles ranking and ITA All-America honors, while she partnered with Natasa Vukovic for a No. 25 doubles ranking. Huba went on to record 80 singles wins to set the school record.
In his first year with the Panthers, the women's squad posted a 16-9 record in 2012-13, facing 16 nationally-ranked opponents along the way.
Prior to his stint at FIT, Veeder was on the coaching staff at Georgetown Prep Tennis Club in Maryland, serving as a senior staff professional until June 2012 where he organized and managed clinics, developed lesson plans for classes and was a junior tennis trainer.
Veeder graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism news and editorial in May 2011 from Gardner-Webb. The native of Brevard, N.C., racked up 41 career doubles victories while playing at the No. 1 spot all four years. In singles, he amassed 35 career wins, including a 3-0 record at No. 1. Veeder received ITA Academic All-American and ITA Scholar-Athlete status, while also being named to the All-Atlantic Sun Conference Team as a freshman.
Veeders finished up his masters in Business Administration with a specialization in Internet Marketing in December 2015 from Florida Institute of Technology.
