Aly Derksen joined the UCF athletics department as a graduate assistant in 2019 and has risen through the ranks to currently serve as associate director of the Varsity Knights program.
Derksen previously served two years as the coordinator of executive operations and Varsity Knights, assisting the department's executive operations, the Varsity Knights letter winner program, and golf operations.Derksen also helps manage premium areas during football games in the Bounce House, assists in coordinating championship resources events like the Kickoff Luncheon, the Varsity Knights Golf Tournament, and the National Girls and Women in Sports Breakfast, and co-manages the Knightmare Society, UCF student development program.
A member of the UCF rowing team from 2015-19, Derksen is a Varsity Knight herself. She helped lead the Black and Gold to four American Athletic Conference championships and three NCAA Championship appearances, while earning AAC All-Academic honors three times.
Derksen, a native of Canada, earned her bachelor's degree from UCF in 2019, majoring in psychology and minoring in sports business. She earned her master's degree in educational leadership and higher learning at UCF in 2021.
