UCF Women’s Golf head coach Emily Marron added to her staff July 2023, announcing the addition of Ellen Secor as the team’s assistant coach.
Secor comes to UCF from Charlotte, where she spent the last two years as an assistant coach. Prior to her coaching career, she spent two years at Oklahoma and three years at Colorado State as a member of the women’s golf program.
“I couldn’t be more proud to have Ellen join our staff during this important time of joining the Big 12 conference,” said Coach Marron. “She embodies all the qualities we were looking for as a leader and a mentor for our student-athletes and has the experience of playing in the 12. Ellen will have an immediate impact with our team both on and off the course. I couldn’t be more excited to add her to our UCF Family!”
Secor was a three-year standout at Colorado State from 2016-2019, where she played in over 30 events with the Rams while being named to the Mountain West Academic All-Conference team in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Throughout her college career, Secor appeared in two NCCA regional championships.
While with the Sooners, she was named to the All-Big 12 Academic Team and is tied for the seventh-best round at Westbrook recording a 66.
Secor also has experience as an amateur as she claimed a victory at the 2018 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship. She replaces former assistant coach Summar Roachell, who recently accepted a head coaching position at Central Arkansas.
“I am so excited to be a part of the UCF Family,” said Secor. “Coach Emily has built a strong program here that I believe will be even stronger as we head into the Big 12. This opportunity to join the Knights and create something special here with these talented student-athletes is something I couldn’t pass up. I would also like to thank Ryan Ashburn for taking a chance on me at Charlotte, I would not be where I am today without her great leadership. Charge On!!”
