Jonathan Housand arrived at UCF as assistant strength coach in April 2024. He primarily supports the women’s basketball program.
Nicknamed “J House,” he previously worked within the communications and strength and conditioning departments for Auburn. Housand’s experience includes assisting the men’s basketball, women’s basketball, women's volleyball, gymnastics teams, track and field throwers, and was head strength coach for Auburn's cheerleading squad.
Prior to moving to Auburn in 2018, Housand served as Special Operator, Second Class in the U.S. Navy and was based in Virginia Beach, Va. He is a former president of the Auburn Student Veteran’s Association (ASVA).
Housand is a two-time graduate from Auburn University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in fitness, conditioning, & performance before going on to earn his master’s degree in exercise science.
Originally from Alexander City, Ala., Housand grew up in Columbus, Ga., where he graduated from Hardaway High School. During the Navy service, he lived in Great Lakes, IL, Coronado and San Diego, CA. Based in Virginia Beach, VA, he met his lovely partner, Sarah Chaplain, and after moving to Auburn, they weclomed their handsome son, Jonathan Harrison Housand, Jr.
