Brett Fink was named an assistant coach on the UCF women[apos]s basketball staff in June 2012 after spending the 2011-12 campaign with the Knights as the program[apos]s assistant director of basketball operations.
Fink[apos]s first year on the coaching staff in 2012-13 was a memorable one. In the Knights[apos] final season as a member of Conference USA in 2012-13, he helped lead the program on a magical run through the conference tournament. UCF advanced to its third title game in five years thanks to victories over Houston, regular season champion and No. 1 seed SMU and defending tournament champion UTEP.
Throughout the year, UCF ended an 0-44 streak against SEC opponents with a win over Mississippi State, snapped the nation[apos]s ninth-longest home-win streak at Florida Gulf Coast and saw Briahanna Jackson earn C-USA Freshman of the Year honors after breaking the school record for steals in a single season.
As the assistant director of basketball operations, Fink aided in the daily operations of the program, helping manage travel, expenses, video exchange and preparation and camps.
A 2003 graduate of UCF, Fink brings over 10 years of coaching experience to his new position. Prior to joining the UCF staff last season, Fink served as the head coach at Cocoa Beach Junior/Senior High School for five years, managing all aspects of the middle school, ninth grade, junior varsity and varsity teams.
Fink also has experience as the head coach and owner of Lady Hurricanes, Inc., an AAU travel program. From 2001-03, he served as an assistant men[apos]s coach at Brevard Community College.
