Jeff Conrad enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach.
Prior to joining UCF, Conrad spent six seasons at the high school level in Tampa where he mentored numerous all-conference and all-state players. During his tenure as an assistant at H.B. Plant, the Panthers made FHSAA Elite Eight appearances in 2008 and 2009. After finishing as the district runner-up in both 2008 and 2009, Plant won district championships in 2010 and 2011.
In 2012, Conrad joined current Eastern Michigan University head coach Skeeter Gentile at Bloomingdale H.S in Valrico. While at Bloomingdale, the Bulls made it to the district tournament semifinals and were also a district runner-up. Between Plant and Bloomingdale, Conrad concluded his six-year high school coaching career with a 116-44 overall record.
Conrad took over as the head coach of the 18-Gold Tampa Mustangs in 2013. The Mustangs finished the 2013 season with a 31-5 overall record, including three tournament titles, and ranked 23rd in the nation. In two years of working with the U-18 team, he had 16 players commit to Division I programs.
As a player, the former switch hitting shortstop signed a Division I baseball scholarship with Valparaiso University out of Lincoln-Way H.S. in the south suburbs of Chicago. His playing career included time at the USA Baseball National team camp and an invitation to the Elite Prospect camp with the San Diego Padres. Conrad's sister, Traci, was a three-time All-American in softball at Michigan, where she was a former two-time Big Ten Player of the Year and the all-time career hits leader in the Big Ten. She played for the US National Team and was a first round draft pick of the Akron Racers in the NPF.
