Nicci Hopps was named Director of Student-Athlete Welfare and Development in May of 2018 after previously serving in the UCF Academic Services for Student-Athletes (ASSA) department.
Hopps manages and oversees the holistic development of all UCF student-athletes based on four pillars: Personal Development, Career/Professional Development, Leadership Development, and Community Outreach. She is the lead facilitator for the UCF Student-Athlete Leadership Institute, creating leadership development programming aimed at growing student-athlete leaders into positive influencers in and out of the locker room.
Hopps joined the UCF full-time staff in November 2015 as the academic advisor for the rowing and softball teams. She was previously a graduate assistant with Academic Services for Student-Athletes (ASSA) since August 2014, working with men’s and women’s tennis, men’s golf, women’s volleyball, and softball.
During her time at UCF, Hopps has earned her MBA and Master’s in Sports Business Management from the DeVos Sport Business Management Program.
Prior to UCF, Hopps graduated from Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management with a minor in coaching and was a student-athlete on the softball team and a team captain for two years.
In her free time, the Tampa, Fla., native enjoys working out, attending Celebration Church, and spending time with family and friends.
