Mallory Benard was named an assistant coach for sports performance in July 2016. She is set to work with women's basketball, while also assisting women's soccer and rowing.
Before coming to Orlando, Benard served one season as sports performance coach and directors of basketball operations for the women's basketball team at Maine.
She served as a graduate assistant for strength and conditioning at Springfield College for two seasons, working with the women's soccer program. Benard earned a master of science in exercise science and sport studies with a concentration in strength and conditioning in August 2015.
Earning experience in strength and conditioning, Benard spent time at Kansas, UConn, Springfield College, Villanova, Delaware and South Florida completing internships.
Benard received her undergraduate degree in May 2012 from Bloomsbug University in exercise science.
She has also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with American International College Softball and Parisi Speed School.
An accomplished powerlifter, Benard, earned a first-place medal at the 2015 Crush Kilos with Cancer Weightlifting meet, while competing in the 2013 Pennsylvania State Olympic meet and the 2012 Bloomsburg Annual Powerlifting meet.
Currently, Benard is certified as a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), with USA Weightlifting (USAW), American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED and First Aid and CSCCa.
