-Four-year letterwinner at Timber Creek HS as an outfielder, second baseman and pitcher under coaches Scott Grove and Glenn Finnerty
-Was a member of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) while in high school
-Showed off incredible versatility by winning Hitter of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year (twice) in separate seasons
