2009 (Freshman): Selected as a Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American, the first UCF catcher in school history to earn the honor...Also a member of the C-USA All-Freshman Team...Led C-USA with 26 runners caught stealing, the second-most by a UCF catcher in the last decade...From March 25 to the end of the year, never had back-to-back games without a hit...Went .335 for the season and had a team-best .371 average in C-USA games...Amassed 15 doubles, four homers, 28 runs and 23 RBI...Also had a .500 slugging percentage and a .981 fielding percentage in 42 games...Had similar numbers against both righties and lefties, batting .333 vs. southpaws and .336 vs. righties...Doubled in a two-hit game with a RBI and run scored vs. Monmouth (March 8)...Connected for first home run, a solo blast in the seventh, at USF (March 10)...Cranked out three hits and scored a run vs. USF (March 11)...Knocked Southern Miss pitching around in game one (March 28), going 3-for-5 with two doubles and a three-run homer...Notched three hits, a double, three runs and two RBI at Memphis (April 4)...Went on an 11-game hitting streak (April 8-May 1)...Doubled in a two-hit game with a RBI and a run at Florida (April 8), while also removing Matt den Dekker from the bases to halt the junior[apos]s streak of 29-straight stolen bases...Homered in a two-hit, two-run affair and threw out one of the country[apos]s top base stealers in Josh Prince vs. Tulane (April 11)...Busted out for two doubles in a three-hit game with a RBI and a run vs. Tulane (April 12)...Scored twice, had a double and threw out two runners in the same inning vs. Stetson (April 21)...In the UAB series (April 24-26), went 8-for-14 for a .571 average with a double, homer, four runs and five RBI...Collected two hits, a RBI and a run while throwing out one on the bases vs. Marshall (May 1)...Cranked out two hits with a double and two runs at Rice (May 8)...Posted 3-for-5 totals with two RBI against Houston (May 14).
Prior to UCF: Played every infield position for Rockledge High School and head coach Greg Clayborne...Earned Florida Today First-Team honors as a senior, while also picking up all-conference and FACA high school state all-star team accolades...Helped RHS go 27-6 and reach the Class 4A state semifinals...Finished junior season with a .425 average, banging out four homers and 28 RBI...Also had 12 doubles, four triples and a .720 on-base percentage...Was the school[apos]s most offensive player as a junior and a senior, the most defensive player as a sophomore and the rookie of the year as a freshman...Part of the 2003 AAU 13-U national championship team.
