ORLANDO – A second brace in his last three games has landed a member of the UCF men’s soccer team weekly conference honors for the second consecutive week.
After leading the Knights to their first ranked win of the fall with a two-goal display against No. 18 South Carolina Sunday evening, redshirt junior forward Drew Hansen was honored as the Sun Belt Conference’s week 10 Offensive Player of the Week.
The selection represents Hansen’s second consecutive selection as the league’s Offensive Player of the Week, as well as the forward’s second career Sun Belt weekly award recognition.
Hansen also clinched UCF’s 11th overall weekly conference award since joining the Sun Belt in 2023, as well as the program’s fifth Offensive Player of the Week selection in that span.
With two straight weekly recognitions, Hansen becomes the first player in UCF’s Sun Belt era to earn back-to-back Sun Belt weekly nods, and the first player to do so overall since Kentucky’s Ryan Jack earned back-to-back Defensive Player of the Week honors in weeks six and seven in 2024.
In recording another multi-goal affair, Hansen pushed his single-season career best total to nine scores through the team’s first 14 matches, notched his third multi-goal contest of the year and the fourth such outing of his career.
He opened the match’s scoring in just the 13th minute, giving UCF an early 1-0 lead with an assist from Joachim Kyei, and later added a crucial third goal, one that would represent the game-winner, in the 71st minute.
Hansen’s second tally of the match represented his third game-winning goal of the year, and with his two goals overall, he has now produced four career goals against ranked opponents, joining his tallies against then-No. 23 Seattle Aug. 25, 2024, and then-No. 19 Kentucky in the semifinal round of the 2025 Sun Belt Conference tournament.
