IRVING, Texas – The honors continue to roll in for UCF junior midfielder Ainsley Moy this week, as she has been named the Big 12 Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.
A day removed from being named to Top Drawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week, Moy earned conference player of the week accolades after recording a pair of goals and an assist en route to leading the Black and Gold to a perfect 2-0-0 record last week.
A native of Freehold, New Jersey, Moy first recorded her team-leading seventh assist of the season in UCF’s 2-1 road victory over the defending Big 12 champion TCU Horned Frogs on Thursday, then followed it up with the first brace of her career to lead the Knights to a 3-1 home win over Oklahoma State on Sunday.
After notching an assist in Thursday’s road win, Moy helped the Knights break a scoreless tie midway through the second half against the Cowgirls by drawing and converting a penalty kick in the 68th minute for her first goal of the season. Just two minutes later, Moy struck again, finishing a pass from teammate Ella Holloran from the top of the six-yard box in the 70th minute. The score proved to be the game-winner and gave Moy the first brace of her career.
With five points on the week, Moy is now second on the team in points with 11 and her seven assists on the season are good enough for third in the conference and she also ranks second in the Big 12 in assists per game (0.58). The UCF midfielder also ranks in the top 15 nationally in both categories, as she checks in at 11th in assists per game and 15th in total assists.
The weekly conference honor marks the first of Moy’s career and the fourth earned by the Knights this season. Naomi Clark previously garnered Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 2, while Kalena Bellini was named Defensive Player of the Week and Kaïna Cesar earned Goalkeeper of the Week recognition last week.
