ORLANDO – UCF junior midfielder Ainsley Moy has been named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week after a stellar performance on the pitch last week for the Knights.
Moy was named to Top Drawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week after totaling a pair of goals and an assist over two matches. She recorded her team-leading seventh assist of the season in UCF’s 2-1 road victory over the defending Big 12 champion TCU Horned Frogs on Thursday, then followed it up with the first brace of her career to lead the Knights to a 3-1 home win over Oklahoma State on Sunday.
After notching an assist in Thursday’s road win, the Freehold, New Jersey, native helped the Knights break a scoreless tie midway through the second half against the Cowgirls by drawing and converting a penalty kick in the 68th minute for her first goal of the season. Just two minutes later, Moy struck again, finishing a pass from teammate Ella Holloran from the top of the six-yard box in the 70th minute. The score proved to be the game-winner and gave Moy the first brace of her career.
With five points on the week, Moy is now second on the team in points with 11 and her seven assists on the season are good enough for third in the conference and she also ranks second in the Big 12 in assists per game (0.58). She also ranks in the top 15 nationally in both categories, as she checks in at 11th in assists per game and 15th in total assists.
The honor marked the first national weekly recognition of Moy’s career.
