Football, Spirit Teams Join Go Baby Go! Car-Building Event for Kids

UCF football and spirit team members helped launch a different kind of Space Game celebration Monday, joining UCF’s Go Baby Go! program and Orlando Health to build customized, space-themed motorized toy cars for children with mobility challenges. The event brought Knights together at Acrisure Bounce House to give local families new opportunities for movement, independence and play.

In recognition of the Space Game’s 10th anniversary, volunteers built 10 adaptive vehicles featuring NASA, SpaceU and Citronaut designs. UCF physical therapy doctoral students and Orlando Health professionals worked alongside student-athletes to customize the cars for each child’s needs, with families receiving the vehicles at no cost.

For the five toddlers who attended, the highlight came when they climbed into their new “spaceships” for a test drive. From student-athletes helping assemble the cars to parents imagining their children playing alongside siblings, the event showed how a beloved UCF tradition can make an impact far beyond the football field.
