ORLANDO – Highlighted by seven home games, including five against Big 12 opponents and four visiting The City Beautiful for the first time, the UCF football team unveiled its 2026 schedule alongside the Big 12 Conference.

The Knights and the league announced the slate Wednesday morning on ESPNU. Currently, every game except the home opener is scheduled for Saturday, though select contests may be moved to Fridays, Black Friday, or other special dates. Any adjustments will be announced in the coming weeks. To ensure the best possible gameday atmosphere, UCF will await the decision of the conference and its television partners before designating the date of the Mission X Space Game.

The season kicks off with a familiar opponent as the Black and Gold welcome local Bethune-Cookman to town to kick off the season on Thursday, Sept. 3. UCF brings an 11-game winning streak on Thursday nights into the contest, the third-longest active streak in the FBS on that day of the week.

UCF will then hit the road to Pittsburgh in September for a non-conference matchup, marking its first such road game since a win at Boise State in 2023. The Knights will face the Panthers on Sept. 12 at Acrisure Stadium (not to be confused with UCF’s Acrisure Bounce House). Pitt won eight games in 2025 and was in contention for the ACC title, but missed the championship game due to tiebreakers, finishing tied for second. The Panthers also snapped UCF’s 25-game regular-season winning streak in 2019 with a 35–34 victory on a two-point conversion trick play. The contest begins a scheduled home-and-home series, with the Knights set to host Pitt in 2029.

The Black and Gold will close the non-conference slate on Sept. 19 with their first-ever meeting against Georgia State, welcoming the Panthers to Orlando. The contest will be designated as this year’s Family Weekend game.

For the first time in its Big 12 tenure, UCF will open conference play at home, hosting TCU on Sept. 26. The Knights opened each of their first three Big 12 seasons on the road, including a 36–35 win at TCU in 2024. The matchup will mark TCU’s first visit to the Acrisure Bounce House.

UCF then embarks on a two-game road stretch away from The City Beautiful. The Knights will visit longtime conference foe Houston on Oct. 3, marking their third matchup against Houston in the last four seasons. The road swing continues on Oct. 10 with UCF’s inaugural visit to Stillwater, where the Knights carry a pair of wins from their only previous meetings with Oklahoma State.

The Knights will reach their bye week at the midpoint of the season, with six games scheduled on either side of the break.

Coming out of the bye, UCF begins the first of two two-game homestands. The Knights celebrate homecoming by hosting Pop-Tarts Bowl champion BYU on Oct. 24. The Black and Gold will welcome Baylor to Orlando on Oct. 31 to cap the two-game swing.

UCF returns to Lawrence, Kansas, on Nov. 7 for its first visit since 2023 to take on the Jayhawks. The game will be the Knights’ third matchup with Kansas in four seasons as members of the Big 12.

The final two home games of the 2026 season will feature opponents visiting Orlando for the first time. Arizona State comes to town on Nov. 14, followed by Iowa State on Nov. 21.

The regular season concludes with another trip west, as UCF visits Colorado on Saturday, Nov. 28, the weekend after Thanksgiving. The Knights and Buffaloes have met just once previously, in 2024, when UCF hosted Big Noon Kickoff.

The Big 12 Championship Game is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4, and will once again be played at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, in Dallas, Texas.

UCF carries early momentum into the 2026 season after landing quarterback Alonza Barnett III and a strong group of transfers through the portal over the past month. More on the transfer class can be found here. The Knights also secured a pair of four-star high school recruits, highlighting a solid overall class.
