HARRIS, Michigan - The UCF men’s golf team opened its 2026-27 season with a strong showing at the Island Resort Intercollegiate, finishing tied for fourth as a team while Camden Goldknopf led the Knights with a fifth-place finish.
Hosted by South Dakota State at Sage Run Golf Course in Harris, Michigan, the Knights competed in three rounds over two days on the par-72 course, finishing the tournament at 12-under-par (852).
Goldknopf led the way for the Knights, opening the tournament with a 4-under-par showing to put himself in contention near the top of the leaderboard. He followed scoring a 70 (two-under-par) in the second round before closing the tournament with another 4-under (68). Goldknopf finished at 10-under-par (206) for the tournament, highlighted by an eagle on the ninth hole in his final round, to finish fifth individually.
Transfer Brodie Cunningham made his debut in Black and Gold, opening his first tournament as a Knight with a 2-under in round one. Cunningham finished tied for 23rd.
Senior Hans Risvaer also turned in a strong performance, finishing tied for 15th after three rounds (213, three-under-par).
After a difficult opening round, junior Jakub Hejlek flipped the script in the second round, carding a 2-under-par performance to contribute to the Knights’ strong team showing.
Freshman Zilin Gao also made his collegiate debut for UCF, while Joshua Stephens, Henry Dao and Ilan Dufrenoy competed as individuals. Dufrenoy opened his first tournament as a Knight with an even-par 72.
