Rowing Alumna Julia Going Earns NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

by Ainsley Keaveny

ORLANDO - Rowing alumna Julia Going has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, one of the association's prestigious academic honors. The scholarship recognizes standout student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence in academics, athletics and leadership within their community.

Going is one of 42 student-athletes selected nationwide and one of 21 women to receive the award. Recipients represented NCAA institutions across all divisions and a wide range of sports, including track and field, tennis, baseball, lacrosse and golf. Going was one of just two rowers honored.

A member of Knights from 2022-25, Going graduated with a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering. During her senior year, she earned the Order of Pegasus, UCF’s highest student honor, recognizing exceptional academic achievement, university involvement, leadership and service.

The Cedarburg, Wisconsin, native played a key role in helping the Knights capture their first Big 12 Championship in 2025 as the coxswain of the Second 8+ boat.

Academically, Going earned an American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honors as a freshman in 2022 and was named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete List as a senior in 2025.

Going will continue her academic career at Stanford, where she will pursue a master's degree with support from the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.
