ORLANDO – The UCF men’s soccer team has announced the addition of rising junior defender German Moreno to its fall 2026 roster.
Moreno, a native of Sant Vicenç de Montalt, joins the Knights on the heels of two years with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) from 2024-25, where he scored one goal and added a pair of assists in 33 career matches for the Bees.
He started 17 of SCAD’s 18 contests in 2024, helping lead the squad to an overall 11-4-3 record, a share of second place in the conference table, and a berth in the second round of the Sun Conference Championship.
With Moreno’s aid, the Bees allowed two or fewer goals 15 times throughout the 2024 season, including three clean sheets. SCAD also earned back-to-back ranked wins Oct. 26-30, besting then-No. 11 Keiser, 3-2, and then-No. 4 St. Thomas, 1-0, with the latter representing the highest-ranked win in program history.
Offensively, he recorded the first two points of his career in the 48th minute of the Bees’ 5-0 rout of Webber International Oct. 16, netting SCAD’s third score of the game and his first collegiate goal.
He then started 16 of the Bees’ 18 matchups in 2025, helping lead the squad to a 7-7-4 overall record and a 5-2-1 mark in Sun Conference play to clinch the No. 3 overall seed in the conference tournament.
After netting his first career goal in 2024, he added his first two assists in 2025, against Faulkner (AL) Sept. 13 and Southeastern Oct. 9.
The squad defensively, meanwhile, tallied 13 matches with two or fewer goals allowed, highlighted by a dominant run from Sept. 27-Oct. 11 that featured four consecutive shutout victories over Webber International Sept. 27, Warner (FL) Oct. 4, Southeastern Oct. 9, and New College of Florida Oct. 11.
“I chose UCF because it gives me the opportunity to compete at a high level in soccer while earning a great education and growing both as a player and as a person,” Moreno said.
The defender also brings international experience to the pitch in Orlando, having previously appeared in 25 matches between the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons with CF Lloret.
