Softball Adds Infielder Anyssa Wild to 2026 Transfer Class

by Ryan Ladika

ORLANDO – The UCF softball team has announced the addition of rising junior Anyssa Wild, an infielder who spent the first two seasons of her collegiate career with the Arizona Wildcats. Wild represents the Knights’ third signing from the transfer portal this summer.

The native of Tucson, Arizona, is a career .340/.446/.617 hitter, having appeared in 36 games, including 10 starts, between her two seasons with the Wildcats. In her first 56 plate appearances in Tucson, Wild accrued four doubles, three home runs, 15 RBI and six walks.

Most recently, she appeared in 21 games, including seven starts, in 2026 for Arizona before missing the final nine weeks of the year with a broken forearm.

Wild began the season hitting safely in both of Arizona’s two matchups against Drake Feb. 12 before slugging her first homer of the season, and second of her career, in the Wildcats’ 15-0 run-rule win over Utah Valley Feb. 14.

She later produced a five-game hit streak against Long Beach State, BYU and then-No. 2 Texas Tech March 1-14, going 5-for-9 with one double, one home run, four walks and five RBI in that span.

The long ball, her second of the season, came against three-time NFCA All-American right-hander NiJaree Canady in the Wildcats’ 9-0 victory over the Red Raiders March 13. Wild was then hit by a pitch in the second inning of game two of the Wildcats’ March 14 doubleheader against Texas Tech, suffering her season-ending injury.

Wild joined Arizona in 2025 out of Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson, slashing .350/.409/.600 (7-for-20) in 15 games throughout her freshman season. She hit her first career home run in the first came of her collegiate career, helping lead the Wildcats to their 15-0 rout of Michigan State Feb. 6 with a fourth inning pinch-hit two-run blast.

She later notched her first career multi-hit affair against Utah State March 10 and added a three-run double in the Wildcats’ 8-0 run-rule win over BYU March 27.

With Salpointe Catholic High School, Wild was a four-time Arizona state champion, garnering Southern Arizona Freshman of the Year honors in 2021 and earning four First Team All-Region 4A Kino honors and four First Team All-Conference honors.

Wild joins former Kentucky right-hander Hailey Nutter and former Georgia Southern infielder Kayla Christensen in UCF’s 2026 transfer class.
