ORLANDO – A pair of UCF baseball student-athletes were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team as announced Tuesday by the organization.
Seniors Kris Sosnowski and Javier Crespo both received the prestigious honor for the 2025-26 academic year. This marks the second time of Sosnowski’s career and the first for Crespo.
The 2026 Academic All-District Baseball Team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. To be eligible, one must hold a 3.50 cumulative GPA or better, as well as be a key contributor on the field.
The right-handed pitcher Sosnowski was named Academic All-District for the second time in his career after being one of UCF’s top relief pitchers on the season. The native of Lutz, Florida, led the team with a 2.10 ERA and tied for the team-lead with four saves. He also posted a 1-0 record over 19 appearances. He added 16 strikeouts over 25.2 innings and limited opposing hitters to a .237 batting average on the year.
Sosnowski previously earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from UCF last spring and will earn a master’s in management this summer.
The third baseman Crespo was named Academic All-District for the first time after being one of team’s top hitters on the season. The Orlando native finished fourth on the team with a .317 average. He also posted 15 extra-base hits with nine doubles, five homers and a triple. He also scored 34 runs and drove in 26 more. He slugged .457 with a .408 on-base percentage, while also drawing 20 walks and stealing a base. Defensively, Crespo had just six errors at the hot-corner of third base with a .951 fielding percentage.
Crespo earned a bachelor's degree in integrative general studies from UCF last month.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 23.
