ORLANDO - The UCF men’s basketball team has signed Churchill Abass to its 2026-27 roster, head coach Johnny Dawkins announced Tuesday.
A 6-foot-10 senior, Abass joins the Knights after spending the 2025-26 season at New Orleans, where he appeared in 33 games with 27 starts. He averaged 8.4 points per game, totaling 277 points, while shooting an efficient 63.1% from the field for the Privateers.
Abass began his collegiate career at DePaul before transferring to Wake Forest. During his time with the Demon Deacons, he played in 13 games with one start. At DePaul, Abass saw action in 30 games, making 13 starts, and averaged 3.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 57.8% from the floor. He recorded a season-high 13 points and added nine rebounds in the Blue Demons’ regular-season finale against Xavier, and posted nine rebounds versus Marquette and eight against Villanova.
A native of Nigeria, Abass was a four-star prospect out of NBA Academy Africa and ranked No. 81 overall in the On3 Class of 2023 rankings.
