Men's Tennis Tabbed Tenth Recruiting Class in the Nation on Tennis Recruiting Network Rankings

by Franki Noble

ORLANDO - The future continues to look bright for the UCF men’s tennis program, as the Knights were tabbed the tenth overall recruiting class in the nation in the latest 2026 rankings released by Tennis Recruiting Network on Monday afternoon.

UCF’s class finished inside the national top 10 with 288 points as voted on by the network, ranking ahead of programs such as past opponents in Oklahoma and Florida as well as conference foes in TCU, Baylor and Oklahoma State while continuing the momentum built under head coach Lloyd Bruce-Burgess

The nationally recognized class is headlined by three international standouts in Christian Gronfeldt-Sorensen, Kai Thompson and Fanming Meng, each bringing high-level experience and proven success on the junior circuit.

Gronfeldt-Sorensen arrives in Orlando from Denmark as one of the country’s top young players. The four-time Danish National Champion climbed as high as No. 129 in the ITF Junior Rankings and competed in the 2025 Junior US Open. The No. 1 ranked Junior in Denmark, the Copenhagen native adds another dynamic piece to the Knights’ growing roster.

Thompson, a native of Hong Kong, enters UCF as one of the highest-rated recruits in the class. Ranked as high as No. 25 in the ITF Junior Rankings with a UTR of 12.77, Thompson has built a strong international resume competing against elite junior talent across the globe. Earlier this year, Thompson became the first Knight to advance to the quarterfinals of a junior open, competing in the 2026 Australian Junior Open.

Meng rounds out the trio after establishing himself as one of the top junior players in China. Ranked as high as No. 125 in the ITF Junior Rankings, Meng has competed extensively on the international stage over the last several years. The Tianjin native captured singles titles at the J100 Dubai and J100 Seoul events while also finding success in doubles competition.

The top-10 class adds to the growing national profile of the Knights program, which has continued to rise both in recruiting and on the court. The Black and Gold are fresh off yet another historic season in the Bruce-Burgess era, finishing within the top-15 in the nation after a second consecutive appearance in the Sweet 16.
