ORLANDO – UCF student-athletes once again performed at a high level in the classroom this semester, recording the third-highest departmental GPA with a 3.45 in the spring.
The impressive mark extends UCF Athletics’ academic success to 37 semesters with a departmental GPA of 3.0 or higher, including 14 straight semesters above a 3.3 or better.
Multiple teams posted historic performances:
- Football posted a program-record GPA of 3.41
- Men’s soccer and men’s tennis tied for the highest GPA of UCF’s men’s teams with a clip of 3.54; men’s soccer’s mark was the second highest GPA on record
- Cross country posted the highest GPA of UCF’s women’s teams, earning a 3.75 GPA in the spring
Over 80% of student-athletes earned a 3.0 or better (322 of 398) while 56 of them earned a perfect 4.0. Additionally, 185 students earned a spot on the Dean’s list, 101 earned a nod to the AD Honor Roll and 39 earned President’s Honor Roll.
Of UCF’s 16 teams, 15 earned better than a 3.0 GPA and 14 earned above a 3.3.
The remarkable GPA numbers underscore the outstanding APR numbers UCF posted earlier this spring, where five teams earned perfect 1,000 multi-year scores and nine earning single-year perfect scores.
With another standout academic term in the books, UCF student-athletes continue to exemplify the department’s mission of achieving excellence both in competition and in the classroom.
