ORLANDO – The No. 15 men’s tennis program secured its third consecutive at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, serving as a regional host school for the second season in a row at the USTA National Campus.
The Black and Gold secured their ninth all-time bid to the tournament as the No. 16 national seed, continuing the streak of making the postseason in all three seasons of Head Coach Lloyd Bruce-Burgess’ tenure, beginning in 2024.
Next weekend’s competition will mark the third time that UCF has been tabbed the regional host site, with the first instance coming in 2021 where the Knights served as the tournament’s ninth seed.
The Knights will play at the host site of the USTA National Campus, welcoming teams in South Carolina State, Florida and Stetson. Play will commence on May 1 and 2, with exact match times to be determined shortly.
Last year’s UCF team made history last season, becoming the first squad in program history to reach the Sweet 16, traveling to TCU for Super Regionals last May. The Knights defeated two in-state opponents, first besting Miami in the first round before toppling the Gators in the round of 32. Prior to the Sweet 16 berth, the Knights first advanced to the second round in 2021 and have won each of their two prior first-round contests under Bruce-Burgess.
