HUTCHINSON, Kansas - Following an action-packed spring slate, the UCF men’s golf team will embark on its third Big 12 Championship since joining the league, venturing to Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas, for four rounds of play from April 27-29.
The Knights enter competition on the back of three consecutive top-10 finishes, producing multiple sub-par rounds against strong opposition. Two weeks ago, UCF placed eighth at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, marking a strong conclusion to the regular season against an eye-catching field.
All 16 Big 12 schools will play a pair of rounds on Monday, before single rounds on Tuesday and Wednesday. Hosted at the prestigious Prairie Dunes Country Club, which has been named among the top-30 courses in America by Golf Digest, it plays as Par 70, spanning 7,025 yards.
Multiple Knights have found their stride down the stretch of the season, none more than Lucas Dutartre, who secured a season-best 10th-place finish in North Carolina. The Frenchman has boasted three under-par rounds across his last six rounds, anchored by a few bogies and consistent play on the final nine holes.
Not trailing far behind at the Finley Golf Club, senior Chase Haygood continued his durable form with a 25th-place finish. Haygood produced a great first round with a tournament-leading six birdies.
