Men's Hoops Lands Transfer Isaiah Malone

ORLANDO — The UCF men’s basketball team has added Isaiah Malone to the 2026-27 roster, announced Friday afternoon. The 2026 ASUN Defensive Player of the Year brings elite shot-blocking to the Black and Gold, leading the ASUN with 64 blocks last season.

The six-foot-eight forward concluded his first year of Division I hoops this past season with Florida Gulf Coast. The rising senior played his first two years of college basketball in the NAIA at Saint Francis, averaging 16.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, shooting 67.2% from the field. Malone concluded his junior campaign with Florida Gulf Coast averaging 10.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game.

The LaGrange, Indiana native had a productive transition to the Division I level, recording five double-doubles. Malone brings elite efficiency to the Knights, leading the Eagles in field goal percentage (59.2) and three point percentage (44). Malone closed the season reaching double-figures 17 times.

Malone’s most impressive performance for FGCU was against Fort Lauderdale, posting 15 points, 14 rebounds, and an ASUN game-high six blocks. Malone finished the 2025-26 season 18th in the nation for blocking percentage, registering an outstanding 9.6% of shots blocked while on the court.
