Dutartre Secures Top-10 Finish; Men's Golf Concludes Regular Season at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate

CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina - Led by consistent performances from Lucas Dutartre and Chase Haygood, UCF men’s golf jumped two spots during the final round to conclude the Tar Heel Intercollegiate in eighth place, carding a final score of 851.

The Knights jumped out to a swift start on Saturday, combining for 10 birdies on the back nine en route to a one-over-par finish. However, UCF’s second round struggles continued during the latter half of the day, carding a 283 to conclude day one in 10th.

On Masters Sunday, the wins picked up at the Finley Golf Club, in turn soaring the tournament average well above the opening two rounds. The Black and Gold sustained the conditions and found their stride on the final nine holes to finish with a 287.

Dutartre was the pilot of UCF’s resurgence, authoring a two-under-par performance on Sunday to secure the Frenchman a 10th-place finish and an overall tournament score of 207 (-3). The senior was balanced throughout, tallying just six bogies across the 54 holes and especially excelling on par threes with an average score of 2.80.

Climbing as high as third place during the second round, Haygood assembled yet another top-25 finish, led in large part by six birdies and a two-under-par showing in the opening round of action. The senior’s prowess on par fives was evident once again, tallying an average score of 4.44 on holes eight, twelve and fifteen.

After a pair of even-par expeditions during the opening two rounds, a trickier third round still placed Cam Goldknopf in 33rd with an overall 213 (+3). While Hans Risvaer boasted a tournament-high two eagles, each coming in the second round, the Miami native couldn’t find his stride en route to a ten-over-par performance. Clemente Silva concluded play 15-over-par after a difficult first round.
