Women's Golf in First Place after Day 1 of UNLV Invite

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The UCF women’s golf team got off to an impressive start Monday at the UNLV Invite, finishing 36 holes of play in first place. The Knights currently sit at 584 (-8) with 18 holes to play. 

UCF opened with a 203 (+16) in the first round before heating up in the afternoon to post a 280 (-8). As a team, the Knights totaled 19 birdies on the day and rose 5 places in the ranks during round two. 

All of the Knights finished day one in the top 25 as Pimpisa Sisutham, Molly Smith, Mila Jurine and One Kashima all finished under par in round two. Sisutham fired a 69 (-3) in the second round after carding a 76 (+4) to start the day.

Smith finished the first two rounds in 7th place with a 36-hole total of 146 (+2) carding only one bogey in the second round.  Kashima and Jurine finished the day tied for 12th after both carding 73 (-1) during the second round, and closed out at 147 (+3) on the day. 

Kinga Kusmierska carded 150 (+6) on the day, placing 21st. Kusmeirska finished with six birdies, earning four in the second round. 

The Knights are set to wrap up the final round of the UNLV Invite Tuesday, March 2, with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m.
